The Search for the Spork

With Toy Story 4 coming out soon, we decided to make a new set of ears featuring Bonnie's newest friend: Forky. The first step to making these ears was to find sporks. We figured this would be pretty easy.

It turns out that sporks are not really all that common. We started at a restaurant supply store thinking that must be where restaurants get them. Nope. No go. The good news is we escaped without buying a 10 pound cheesecake or frozen cream puffs, which the store did have.

Next stop was a large discount chain store that we all know well: Walmart. That store also did not have sporks. They did, however have Disney paper towels, and really, how could we leave without that.

Next stop, Whole Foods. OK, I really didn’t think they would have sporks, but it was getting close to lunch and they always have samples out. They also had good looking sweet corn. So, if you are keeping score that is three stores, sweet corn, and paper towels but no sporks. 

About this time my son used his phone and discovered there is an entire spork underground culture. Why wouldn’t there be, right? There were three restaurants that reportedly use sporks. KFC, which have all disappeared in my area, Taco Bell, which did not sound good today, and Panda Express.  Hmm. That sounded good. As I mentioned before it was close to lunch so off to Panda Express. Well, it turns out they did not have sporks either. Updating the score, we are at three stores, and a restaurant, Disney paper towels, sweet corn, orange chicken, and no sporks.

Well, the Panda express is in the parking lot of Meijer, and we were there, so why not look? You guessed it, no sporks. But they did have some really nice bedding plants.

Updating the score…four stores, one restaurant, paper towels, sweet corn, orange chicken, and some flowers…No sporks. We finally had to give up and order them on Amazon.
