Mickey Mouse Cranberry Scones
It's been a little while since Disney released one of their awesome desert recipes, so we thought we would fill the void by releasing one of our favorite Mickey shaped recipe. These scones are fairly simple to make, delicious to eat, and add some extra magic to every breakfast. If you would like the printer friendly version just click here.
SCONES
Ingredients:
1/3 cup cold butter cut into pieces
1 ¾ cup flour
3 tablespoons sugar
2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
2 eggs
½ cup craisins chopped
6 tablespoons half & half
Directions:
- Heat oven to 400 degrees.
- Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in bowl.
- Cut in butter with pastry blender or hands until mixture resembles fine crumbs.
- Turn dough onto lightly floured surface. Knead lightly 10 times. Pat to 1/2” thickness.
- Cut with Mickey head cookie cutter or any other cookie cutter approximately 2” in size - or scones can be cut into diamond shapes with sharp knife. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
- Beat second egg and brush on dough.
- Bake until golden brown, 10 to 12 minutes.
- Remove from cookie sheet immediately and place on a cooling rack.
ICING
Ingredients:
~ ½ cup powdered sugar
Directions:
- Chop zest, place in bowl with juice.
- 1 tablespoon at a time, add powdered sugar and stir until you get desired consistency.
- Drizzle over warm scones.
